I am a Certified Counsellor with the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association and work half-time at Grenfell Campus and half time at the Western Regional School of Nursing (WRSON). I work with individuals using an integrated approach that draws from person-centered therapy, creative arts therapies, narrative therapy, positive psychology and mindfulness techniques. I provide personal counselling at Grenfell Campus and a combination of personal counselling, career counselling, and academic support at WRSON. Originally from Nova Scotia, I recently moved to Corner Brook via St. John's. I have a Bachelor of Music Performance from St. Francis Xavier University, a Bachelor of Music Education, Graduate Diploma in Post-Secondary Studies, and a Masters of Education (Counselling Psychology) from Memorial. My work experience has been varied including K-12 and post-secondary education, private practice and community settings. I have worked successfully with clients experiencing a variety of issues including depression, anxiety, anger, stress, grief and loss, trauma, relationships, self-esteem, communication skills, career and life transitions. I have also co-facilitated groups on separations and divorce, anger management and programs for youth. I believe that every person is unique and focus on their own strengths and goals in session.
