Grenfell Campus, Memorial University of Newfoundland is located in traditional Mi'kmaw territory. There are over 280 self-identified Aboriginal students on campus.Grenfell Campus understands 'Aboriginal' as having First Nations, Inuit, or Métis ancestry. Programs and services for aboriginal students include the Grenfell Campus Student Union Indigenous Caucus, an Indigenous Student Room, Aboriginal Film Series, Aboriginal Awareness events, designated seats programs, housing agreements for Nunatsiavut beneficiaries, and culturally safe spaces for students to practice smudging and Kullik/Qulliq lighting.
