Borrow Academic Dress from Grenfell Campus for Photos
This service is intended for photography purposes only, is available year-round and is free of charge. The service includes one gown, one hood (based on the degree you are graduating with) and one mortarboard cap. We only have hoods for degrees that are obtained from Grenfell Campus.
*Please Note: we have a limited number of Academic Dress (Gowns, Hoods, and Caps) on-site. Therefore, we ask that you request your items at least 2 weeks in advance, so you can be advised of the availability of your items for the date required. All of our academic dress is free for borrowing throughout the year. In past years, during a normal face to face graduation, students would rent their own gowns, hood, and caps on-line, having it delivered to them for Graduation day.
With our current increase in requests, we may not have a gown or hood available for the time required, however, we can book it for you at a future date. Please note gowns are not available for borrowing from April 27-May 5 and May 12-22.
Requests will be placed in the order of the time it is received on-line. Once your request is received, someone will get back to you a couple of weeks prior to the date your items are requested for or sooner, to let you know availability for your date. When your items are ready for pick-up; you will be notified as to when and where you can pick them up.
Due to the number of ongoing requests, all academic dress is due back within 2-3 business days, and in the same condition as it was received. Note: if you happen to get something on the hood (makeup, dirt, etc.), please do not wash the hood as they are meant to be dry-clean only.
If you completed your degree at St. John’s campus and require a hood for a degree obtained there; please contact the Bookstore in St. John’s at 709-864-8084 to reserve your academic dress.
As there are limited gowns available,
you can also rent your items via Gaspard on-line at https://www.gaspard.ca/. Their Contact info is: 1-800-380-8214.
