Did you know that Spanish is the official language of 21 countries in three continents? Spoken by more than 480 million people, this romance language is your key to some of the most exciting cultures across the globe. This 8-week beginner’s course is designed for people with no previous knowledge of the language. You will learn basic grammar and pronunciation rules and other practical things such as greetings, registering in a hotel, ordering food (and drinks) at a restaurant, asking for directions, and much more. The course will also provide you with opportunities to get to know some of the music and culture of the Spanish speaking world.

About Dr. Mery Perez
Mery holds a master's degree in Spanish Language and Literature from the University of Toronto and has taught Spanish for over 10 years at colleges, universities, and privately. She also has extensive experience working with Latin American artists and community leaders in Ontario. For her, language learning is deeply connected to cultural experience, and she brings to the classroom her love for her Latin American roots through music and art. She is currently a postdoctoral researcher at Grenfell Campus.
