Grenfell Campus and Navigate are pleased to be sponsors of this year’s BDC Small Business Week.
BDC Small Business Week, Oct. 20-26, will deliver a number of events and opportunities that will help western Newfoundlanders get to know the faces behind the business.
BDC Small Business Week is an annual national celebration of entrepreneurship that the Business Development Bank of Canada (BDC) has organized for 40 years. Every year, close to 10,000 entrepreneurs gather to learn, network and celebrate the people building businesses across the country. This year's theme is about showcasing the people who make up the entrepreneurial profile of the western region.
Grenfell Campus and Navigate Entrepreneurship Centre - a partnership of Grenfell and the Corner Brook Campus of the College of the North Atlantic - will support the week of activities by hosting two coffee breaks and sponsoring the Youth Business of the Year Award.
“Entrepreneurial spirit comes from inside the builders, innovators and dreamers of our region,” said Renee Wheeler, BDC senior account manager. “Without those personal goals and ambitions, our economic landscape would look very different.”
This year the Business Development Bank of Canada is celebrating 75 years of helping Canadian entrepreneurs build and grow their businesses.
“During BDC Small Business Week, we invite the community to join us in discovering what keeps entrepreneurs motivated and the skills driving their performance,” said Keith Goulding, president, Greater Corner Brook Board of Trade. “In addition, our schedule of activities will provide opportunities for entrepreneurs to learn more from each other.”
The full schedule of events will be available soon.
