University Medal for Academic Excellence in Social/Cultural Studies
The University Medal for Academic Excellence in Social/Cultural Studies is given to a graduating student with a major in Social/Cultural Studies whose work demonstrates academic excellence. The award is made by the Senate Committee on Undergraduate Scholarships and Financial Aid on the recommendation of the Program Chair of Social/Cultural Studies at the College.

The Breakwater Book Prize in Folklore
This prize consists of several folklore books published by Breakwater Books and is normally awarded to a senior student with an A average in Folklore. All full-time students at Sir Wilfred Grenfell College with a Social/Cultural Studies major or Folklore minor are eligible for this book prize. The award will be made by the Senate Committee on Undergraduate Scholarships and Financial Aid on the recommendation of the Program Chair of Social/Cultural Studies at the College.
