Transfer Students

Business administration

Tra​​​​nsfer from other post-secondary institutions

Students who have graduated from, or are in their last semester of, a two-year diploma in business administration or three-year diploma in business management offered by the College of the North Atlantic, or a two-year associates degree in business administration offered by St. John's College Junior College, may apply for advanced standing for admission into the business program.

  1. Students can transfer from other post-secondary institutions by applying for admission to the University on or before the deadlines specified in the university diary for the semester in which they intend to be their program. Missed the deadline? Late applications will still be reviewed however, priority is given to those who meet the deadline.
  2. To be eligible for the degree of bachelor of business administration, graduates of a community college business diploma program will be required to complete a minimum of 45 credit hours from Memorial University of Newfoundland. Specific course requirements will be determined on an individual basis at the time of admission.

Ready to apply?  

To be admitted to the Grenfell Campus bachelor of business administration program, students should select the business program from the Grenfell Campus section on the undergraduate application for admission/readmission to the  University or  on the declaration/change of academic program form.

Two-Year CNA Business Administration Diploma Program Graduates

Students who have graduated from the two-year Business Administration diploma program and are seeking entry into the Grenfell Campus BBA program must have a minimum average of 65% in their diploma and will be awarded 60 credit hours of transfer credits applicable to the degree program.

Business Administration (Accounting)

Graduates of the two-year business administration (accounting) diploma program will be required to complete an additional 60 credit hours for the Grenfell Campus BBA as follows:

BUSN 2300, 2310, 3010, 3410, 3500, 3600, 4010, 4040, and 4070
  1. ECON 1020
  2. 3 credit hours in first year English
  3. MATH 1052 (or 1000)
  4. 9 credit hours from Business Electives
  5. 15 credit hours in elective courses other than those listed in Business Electives

Business Administration (Human Resource Management)

Graduates of the two-year business administration (human resource management) diploma program will be required to complete an additional 60 credit hours for the Grenfell Campus BBA as follows:

  1. BUSN 2110, 2310, 3010, 3410, 3500, 3600, 4010, 4040, and 4070
  2. ECON 1020
  3. 3 credit hours in first year English
  4. MATH 1052 (or 1000)
  5. 9 credit hours from Business Electives
  6. 15 credit hours in elective courses other than those listed in Business Electives

 Business Administration (Marketing) 

Graduates of the two-year business administration (marketing) diploma program will be required to complete an additional 60 credit hours for the Grenfell Campus BBA as follows:

  1. BUSN 2110, 2300, 2310, 3010, 3410, 3500, 3600, 4010, 4040, and 4070
  2. 3 credit hours in first year English
  3. MATH 1052 or 1000
  4. 9 credit hours from Business Electives
  5. 15 credit hours in elective courses other than those listed in Business Electives

Business Administration (General) 

Graduates of the two-year business administration (general) diploma program will be required to complete a minimum of 60 additional credit hours for the Grenfell Campus BBA. Specific course requirements will be determined on an individual basis at the time of admission.

 

Three-Year CNA Business Management Diploma Program Graduates

Students who have graduated from the three-year Business Management diploma program and are seeking entry into the Grenfell Campus BBA program must have a minimum average of 65% in their diploma and will be awarded 75 credit hours of transfer credits applicable to the degree program. NOTE that intake for this program will begin in the Fall semester only.

  2. 3 credit hours in first year English
  3. MATH 1052 (or 1000)
  4. 9 credit hours from  Business Electives
  5. 12 credit hours in elective courses other than those listed in Business Electives
