Intensive English Bridge Program

Note: Due to the outbreak of COVID-19, the Winter 2021 semester of Grenfell's Intensive English Bridge Program will be delivered completely online. Our decision on mode of delivery will be revisited for each semester. Intensive English Bridge Program - Online

The Grenfell Online Intensive English Bridge Program allows students to earn credit and meet the language proficiency requirements for final admission.

​Undergraduate course(s) for credit
​3 credit hours per course
​Students will take one or two undergraduate courses depending on their proficiency level at the time of intake.
​Integrated Skills Grammar & Vocabulary
​5 hours/week

3 hours/week
(asynchronous)
​Interact with instructors and classmates to enhance abilities in speaking, listening, reading, and writing. Increase grammatical accuracy and develop vocabulary.
​Discussion Groups
​1 hour/week

​Take part in small group, student-led discussions
​Lecture Series on Canadian Culture
​1 hour/week
(synchronous)
​Campus and community leaders will lead live lectures followed by Q&A sessions
​Tutorials for undergraduate class
​2 hours/week

​Improve your performance in your undergraduate course through guidance from high-performing senior students.
​Advanced Writing
​1 hour/week
(synchronous)
​Students who take two undergraduate courses will be required to take this class. Students who are taking one undergraduate course can choose to take this class.
​Language Lab Exorcises
​1 hour/week
(synchronous)
​Reinforce concepts learned in your other classes through web-based activities.
Choice of one (or two) of the following:
Students who take one undergraduate course and choose not to take the Advanced Writing class will be required to take two of the following courses:​
​Everyday English
​1 hour/week

​Learn idioms and practice English for everyday usage.
​Current Affairs
​1 hour/week

​Communicate about complex issues and share opinions about events happening around the world.
Language Through Literature
​1 hour/week
(synchronous)
​Read a novel in English and participate in group discussions to improve comprehension and increase vocabulary.

Exam Period: April 14-23
