Geographic knowledge is fundamental to understanding human problems. Geographers are trained to understand the physical, biological and human characteristics of an area as an integrated whole within a spatial context.
The theory and methodologies of geography provide analytical techniques applicable to a wide range of occupations, such as physical, economic, historical, cultural, informational and resource management geography.
Requirements
Students completing a minor in geography must complete 24 credit hours in the following courses:
- Geography 1050, 2001, 2102, 2195, 2302, 2425
- 6 additional credit hours in Geography which must be at the 3000 or 4000 level
