As Director of the Aging Research Centre-Newfoundland and Labrador (ARC-NL), I welcome all those interested in aging to apply for membership to ARC-NL.
Older adults in the community and anyone with an interest in matters related to aging can apply to be a community member by clicking here. Community members learn about public talks and publications produced by ARC-NL first. If you are more interested in participating in research than hearing about it after the fact, you can also sign up to be included on our participant pool by clicking here.
Researchers, academics, and students with an interest in conducting research can apply to be a researcher or student member. Researcher and student members are eligible to apply for funding and can request to use either our lab at Grenfell Campus or we can help facilitate obtaining space at one of a number of spaces across the province.
The population of our province is aging, which means we have even more individuals with a wealth of knowledge, wisdom, and experience from which we can learn. I am excited about the future of ARC-NL and the discoveries that our members will make. The rest of the Core Leadership Team and I are doing our best to ensure this pilot project will become a permanent research centre of Memorial University by the end of our first 3 years. Please feel free to contact me or our coordinator with your feedback and suggestions. I welcome your input as we help ARC-NL grow from its current state of infancy to, what I hope will be, an extremely fulfilling age of maturity.
