Student Services is right at the centre of campus and is surrounded by other departments that also provide important services to you. Our programming is free and available to you:
academic help in math and writing with professional staff in the Learning Centre
peer mentoring and supplemental instruction with peers who have previously completed a course
Accessibility Centre and Education Support (ACES) which helps provide services to students with
disabilities or who require special accommodations for tests and exams
a health clinic that includes counselling services (with a registered psychologist), physician services, physiotherapy, massage therapy, and much more – drop by Bennett Wing on the main floor to see what we have to offer
international and Indigenous student support
peer support programs that include Steps to Success (for academic support), Grenfell Mentors (for international and Canadian students to work with each other), and an indigenous peer mentoring program
competitive sports, which include basketball, volleyball, and more
wellness activities and programming, including Mental Health First Aid, ski trips, yoga, and much more – watch for promotion of these activities
a food bank, which is accessed through the Student Housing office
for residence students, we offer a Brightspace shell that offers important information on topics such as mental health support, sexual harassment, and inclusivity
Student Housing also falls under Student Services. Residence life provides great access too classes, labs, library and other resources, and is a great way to make great memories on campus!
One of the most important roles that we all play is to help ensure that Grenfell is an inclusive, safe, open, and tolerant community, as outlined in the Student Code of Conduct. This means listening to each other and promoting effective communications and respect. Building this kind of
culture promotes better understanding, and the ability to communicate ideas
without making personal judgments about individuals is a hallmark of university
learning. It is important to remember this in face-to-face conversations as well as on all forms of social media – even those that appear anonymous.
