Join us for Corner Brook's first Startup Weekend!
April 1-3, 2016
Grenfell Campus, Memorial University of Newfoundland
The first-ever Startup Weekend in Corner Brook will be all about entrepreneurs helping entrepreneurs. The event will be hosted by the Grenfell Office of Engagement's Navigate Entrepreneurship Centre in partnership with Startup Newfoundland and Labrador Friday April 1st to Sunday April 3rd.
Startup Weekends are being held around the world and are designed to provide experiential education to potential and existing entrepreneurs. The weekend begins with Friday night business pitches and continues with planning, business model development and basic product creation. The weekend culminates in a Sunday presentation to a panel of local business owners and experts. Participants are challenged with building functional business startups during the event and get to work with individuals outside of their normal daily routine.
Entrepreneurs who have attended Startup events report that Startup promotes an entrepreneurial culture, creating a network for aspiring entrepreneurs and connecting them to those that can support them to realize their dreams of business ownership. After a Startup Weekend is over, on average roughly 80% of attendees plan on continuing to work on their business ideas.
