Grenfell Campus, Memorial University’s beautiful west coast campus, is located in Corner Brook, NL.

Student Housing Applications: deadline is March 1. Living on campus is affordable, convenient, safe and fun! Your fees include a private bedroom and semi-private bathroom. We have traditional residence options, as well as chalet apartments (single and family options available).

Entrance Scholarship Applications: deadline is March 15. Are you a new student? You may qualify for an entrance scholarship!

Theatre (acting or technical theatre) program

  1. Complete the university’s application for general admission/readmission. All supporting documents including your official transcripts for the general admission/readmission application should be mailed directly to the ​Office of the Registrar. 
  2. Prepare for your audition/interview​. In addition to your application to Memorial University, you must also undergo an audition/interview.  If you are auditioning for the acting stream, please prepare a monologue, no longer than 3-minutes in length, from a contemporary play.

As part of your application for general admission/readmission, please state if you wish to be considered for the acting stream or the technical theatre production stream. Please provide a personal statement explaining why you want to study theatre at Grenfell Campus, and why this stream interests you. Please describe any theatre experience you have had before, including acting, technical training, or front of house support work you might have done for theatres or festivals. 


Applications submitted by February 1 will be reviewed and considered for priority acceptance. March 31 is the regular application deadline for the following fall semester. Late applications will be considered as time and resources permit.

 

If you are applying for the technical theatre production stream please also describe any technical or practical skills or experience you have that you think might be relevant, such as working with sound or audio production, video editing, computer painting, model making, wood work, electronics, cosplay or dressmaking.

Note: ​students graduating (or having graduated) from a high school with a fine arts focus, or an arts-based high school are encouraged to call our Fine Arts Office for guidance in your application. Some Memorial course admission requirements can be waived or substituted. Call 709-637-6223.​
