Public engagement

Year 1

• Funding from the Government of Canada, provincial government departments, the City of Corner Brook, as well as Corner Brook Pulp and Paper Ltd. (CBPPL), is making it possible for Grenfell Campus-Memorial University and College of the North Atlantic (CNA), to build the Centre for Research and Innovation.
• A co-curricular record, an official record of student activities that complement their academic transcript, was launched. A CCR allows students to track their skills and learning experiences outside of the classroom.
• Learning hubs in rural locations were implemented to ensure reliable internet access to students in those areas.
• Work with external groups, like the Deer Lake Regional Airport, to help overcome industry challenges presented by the pandemic  was conducted.
• A newly formed collective spanning Corner Brook to the tip of the Great Northern Peninsula is aiming to make the area a healthier and more sustainable place to live. 
• A series called Grenfell Matters, featuring different aspects of campus, was aired on Facebook Live during the spring and summer.
• The annual engagement report Empowered by Community was released.

Year 2

• The Thriving Regions Rural development work on the Great Northern Peninsula is continuing with the mandate of sustainable development in rural growth and prosperity.
  
• PULP Gallery has mounted two public art exhibitions in the City of Corner Brook showcasing the work of Grenfell Campus Visual Arts students.
• The Western Regional Agriculture Network has been established, with partners meeting being held monthly.
• Grenfell Campus gained status as a CELPIP English Testing Site in June 2021 ensuring smooth immigration pathways for newcomers in our area
