Making our strategic plan come to life
Together we worked to develop a comprehensive strategic plan that builds on Grenfell Campus's strengths and unique identity. Throughout each phase of the strategic planning process, the steering committee sought extensive input from internal and external communities.
The process relied heavily on the various conversations and discussion we had with faculty, staff, students, alumni, surrounding communities and our international audiences. Campus and community sessions, submissions to the website and responses to calls for feedback were a few ways we gained more insight to our future.
Dr. Jeff Keshen, vice-president (Grenfell Campus), appointed a strategic plan steering committee in November, 2018. The aim of the committee was to support and oversee the inclusive process to develop a strategic plan that will be used as a guide for Grenfell Campus, Memorial University for the next five years (2020-2025). Steering committee members were responsible for seeking input from various stakeholders and ensuring that feedback was appropriately reflected in the plan as it was developed.
The steering committee, co-chaired by Dr. Michele Piercey-Normore, dean, School of Science and the Environment, and Dr. Robert Gallant, associate professor, School of Science and the Environment, reviewed the current mission, values, and vision statements, and proposed themes around which the plan was organized. The steering committee also consolidated goals and initiatives from the working groups into a single plan and ensured a high level of consultation was practiced throughout the process.
Three working groups were established to help work with our campus communities and to identify any issues that should be addressed when developing the plan.
- External working group
